Weekend Tunes: Julien Dyne

Weekend Tunes: Julien Dyne

I LOVE JULIEN DYNE. Yes, I know I have posted on Julien before, but I couldn’t not post on him again. Having released his second full length album, it’s definitely one worth going out and buying — and not just digitally, make sure you get a CD or vinyl because the album artwork is just beautiful. Like his first album, covered in gorgeous geos and crystals. I’m a sucker for beautiful album art and I’m totally the type of person that still buys CD’s.

I can listen to this album the whole way through and like every track on it, great for working to or driving or anything really. Just go and buy it.

This track, Glisten Up is one of my favourites, just behind Rubberneck which I could have on repeat all day.

Julien is such a talented dude; I bought his album at the start of last Summer along with two other New Zealand artists (who shall be featured in good time) and they were pretty much kept on repeat the whole Summer — and loud too, perfect for hanging at home. I love the percussion in this track, it also features Mara TK from Wellington based Electric Wire Hustle (SUCH an awesome band), he has got to have the smoothest voice in our fair country. This track is called Layer, but go and get the whole album, totally worth every cent and you get to ogle at the awesome cover art too.
