Windy Wellington…

Windy Wellington…

Recently I went to visit Wellington, the capitol of little New Zealand. Known for it’s wind, our parliament building nicknamed ‘The Beehive‘ and of course it’s creative culture, which is eactly why I was headed down there. I went down to visit a few designers from the store, various twitter friends (the lovely Amy Potter @hellomisspotter) and scope some top-secret plans for the future…
Usually Wellington is crazy windy, but not this trip; there was virtually no wind and it was sunny the whole time — almost unheard of I’m told! So I was happy, it was still about 4 degrees cooler than home which felt like I’d stepped straight off the plane and into a freezer compared to balmy Auckland.
Here are a few snaps of some of the things I did while I was there…

I had lunch with the lovely Laura from Hungry & Frozen Blog at Floriditas who was super lovely. Floriditas has the most beautiful decor!

Lemon Butterfly cake from Floriditas

Visited some amazing Vintage stores along Cuba St, bought this little fox brooch and some vintage scarves from Ziggurat and some beautiful navy blue, vintage leather gloves from Gather & Hunt.

The lovely little Swonderful on Cuba St, I nabbed for myself one of their new Papercup ‘Vegas’ skirts in Navy Velvet, I just love it!

My new Swonderful skirt, vintage leather gloves and vintage Oroton scarves — the zig-zag one is so vibrant!

I have to admit, when I heard there was a bar called Foxglove I just had to check it out; the sign alone was worth the trip! Met one of my oldest and loveliest friends, Anna, there for a G&T.

the beautiful Wellington harbour with not a breath of wind
Saturday morning Brunch with my lovely friend Ricoh.

A walk up through the Botanical Gardens to say hi to the tram (look at that gorgeous weather!)

And said hello to this giraffe and lady monkey with a moustache at the Wellington Zoo. So. Cool.
