Little Luxuries: Perfume
I love perfume. It’s one of those things that just makes me happy and feel beautiful. No matter what, I wear perfume every day. I don’t often change it up and prefer to stick to a favourite ‘signature smell’ but lately I’ve been acquiring more so have been veering away from my staple and giving my other beauties a turn. What I love most about smell is that it clings to memories and a scent you like is usually associated to a person or a memory of something you love.
My favourite that I wear every day is Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel after switching from Stella by Stella McCartney a few years ago (which I had worn for about 8 years), each of these (pictured above) is a variation of the next. I love rose based perfumes with notes of citrus, jasmine, patchouli and musk. I think it’s important to find a scent family that suits you, that way you can choose (or have perfume chosen for you) that fit into that family and you know will suit you.
I love having a collection of little, pretty glass bottles that sit on my dressing table! No matter what your taste or your budget, perfume is an accessible way to have a little bit of luxury around you all day. And if you like to mix it up, a little 30ml bottle is the perfect and affordable way to go.
Recently I got for myself See by Chloe and Chloe from NZ based online store Smellycat, they sent everything all gift-wrapped without even asking for it! It was so much fun to get a beautiful package like that sent to me. I definitely recommend checking out their store when you next want to buy yourself some perfume.
